What Authors Can Do To Help UPB Carry Their Books
We want to support local authors and authors who are Friends of UPB. We would like to keep appropriate books in stock for many years, recognizing that the value of most books does not go away after their first season. But identifying local authors and keeping books in stock for the long run is not always easy, and often cost-prohibitive, so we invite authors who would like to see their books displayed and sold at UPB to make a good-faith agreement with us as follows:
What you can do
1. Bring or send us two copies of your book and request that we make it a part of our permanent inventory.
2. Tell your friends or others who ask where they can find your book that University Press Books in Berkeley carries it.
What we will do
1. We will display one copy of the book for at least a month and place the second copy into the appropriate subject section.
2. We will list your book in our New Books Received list and in our regular inventory on our web site and in other online locations.
3. We will always reorder copies of your book from your publisher to keep at least one copy in stock at all times.
This simple arrangement will make UPB a better bookstore by the presence of your book and we hope you will find it agreeable to know that your book will be available here for a very long time.
